Wat Benchamabophit, also known as “the marble temple” or Wat Ben is one of the most beautiful temples in Bangkok. The ubosot (ordination hall) was constructed with Carrara marble from Italy, therefore the name. The temple is a magnificent example of the Bangkok architectural style with its multi tiered roofs, elegant chofahs at the top end of the roof and the beautiful gold carvings. The shiny white marble and the golden decorated windows give the ubosot a delightful appearance, especially in the sunlight.
Wat Benchamabophit is located on the intersection of Thanon Rama V and Thanon Si Ayutthaya. From Pullman Bangkok King Power, grab a taxi and it will take around 15 minutes to reach there. The temple is open everyday from 8.00 – 17.30 hrs.
